Trick Or Treat! is a Halloween themed Roblox game that drops players into a spooky neighborhood filled with mini-games, eerie encounters, and candy waiting to be collected. Players explore haunted streets, ring doorbells, and receive either tricks or treats from residents as they build their candy collection.
As lead developer, I was responsible for designing and implementing the game’s core systems and backend logic, while collaborating with a team focused primarily on world-building and visual design. I built the gameplay systems that drive progression, including candy collection, inventory management, shops, upgrades, events, and persistent player data.
The core gameplay loop centers around risk-and-reward decision making, where players choose how to spend their candy to unlock vanity items, perks, and upgrades that enhance future runs. The game also features live events such as drop parties and special encounters, encouraging repeat play and competition through leaderboards.
This project emphasized long-term system design, live-game iteration, and player retention, including the implementation of safe in-game purchases, persistent progression, and event-driven content updates.
